MSTRKRFT, Vino, Shisha, and a Tree...

Another week already…time really is flying by…I need to take more pictures I think...

So just had a really good week…well mostly a really good weekend the week was fairly quiet…though I did watch Green Street Hooligans, which is a wicked movie and I highly recommend it! This weekend I ended up in London once again with Josh aka team canada aka dyslexia aka now a fan of dirty martinis...

So started things off on a quieter note Friday…I was in London seeing clients and figured I’d swing by Josh and Pats and go grab some food…had some very tasty mac and cheese at a pub, then we loaded up on candy and went back to their place for a little movie night…watched Jackass 2…wow that movie is wicked…then made my way back home.

Saturday had to do some running around and get things organized for my move into the new place this weekend…so stoked to move…then I headed back into London to meet Josh…he finally got a hair cut after about an hour of us wandering around Clapham.…then we headed to Camden town…that place is so dope, I’m gonna have to go back when I have time to do some shopping…some really cool funky stuff there…also lots of wicked food, which leads to the next activity of the day…eating at another Moroccan restaurant…cous cous rules, I love the stuff…and nothing beats having a good meal in a really chill environment listening to Moroccan music while smoking some Shisha or Hooka as some also say…it’s pretty funny how no matter how old you get anytime you smoke something (Dave insert joke) you always have to try and blow smoke rings…neither of us could do it but ill be damned if we didn’t look like the coolest people in there tryin! So after our apple cinnamon Shisha session we made our way to Vineopolis once again to see Sarah, Josh’s sis…

I used to hate Gin, but I gotta tell ya after you start drinking it a lot for free in a really cool place like Vineopolis it starts to taste a whole lot better…I even got Josh onto the dirty martini team…so after getting nice and toasty and listening to some French dude tell us why Jackass is nothing compared to some show called Dirty Sanchez me Sarah and Josh head to the club in Farringdon…we got there a bit early but turns out being there early was definitely worth it cause we had prime seating downstairs to drink our ridiculously expensive drinks…once we were good and drunk we took it to the dance floor and ripped it up for about 4 hours straight to some of the best DJ’s I’ve ever heard…MSTRKRFT = WICKED…so much fun, gonna have to do it again…clubs in London really are quite ridiculous the place had 5 massive rooms and I think there were about 2000 people there…we then made our way home around 4 I think…I was a little tipsy…but apparently not as bad as Josh who managed to walk straight into a TREE!!! Haha sorry homie but it was too damn funny not mention on here!

Sunday was pretty chill, got up late and went into London and watched Blood Diamond in Leicester square...same place where all the movie premiers are…very cool and very good movie…after movie made my way back home and that my friends was the end of my weekend!

Hope you all had a lot of fun as well….this weekend is moving weekend and given that I am a gypsy I really can’t wait, cause moving is so much fun…..

I’ll post some pics of the new place once I’m in and settled in.

Later

London 2 Team Canada 0...

Aight so haven’t posted in a couple weeks but that’s cause last weekend I took a rest to get better…had a bad cold and felt like garbage…but I did manage to play ball on Saturday and Sunday…guess I wasn’t that sick haha…We also won both our matches on Sunday which was a nice change of pace…tho I did get taken off cause I swore at the ref…Perdo they just don’t get our emotional style of playing over here...difference of cultures what can I say 

Anyways last week didn’t get up to much other get myself excited for the weekend that just passed… Josh Michnik is now back in the house, holla homie…this meant a weekend in London to kick things off properly! So after a meeting on Friday with some clients I made my way over to Clapham for lunch with Josh to catch up, then back to his place to finish up my work for the week before kicking things off! (Side note – went to Gourmet Burgers it’s a chain in London…EPIC…one of the best burgers I’ve had)

So we started our Friday off by heading to Vinopolis to do a wine tasting/boozing tour…we met up with Pat and our wine tasting crew and stormed the front door…k we politely asked if Sarah, Josh’s sis, could come out and get us in…free wine and booze…I love life…so our little wine posey walked around tasting wines from all over the world…had to skip the champagne tho cause once you’ve had Crystal on the Sunset strip nothing else will suffice…oh yeah we found out Josh is Dyslexic and that it is a virus and can spread…it is also responsible for anything dumb he does…so yeah after the wine we hit up the Bombay Gin bar where Sarah was slangin wicked Gin cocktails…and I’m sure as many of you would have guessed I had a dirty martini with extra olives cause it’s just how the big dogs roll…we then continued to try every cocktail Sarah had in her arsenal and made our way out quite loaded…Sarah had finished her shift and joined up with us at this point...we then made our way to one of my favorite spots…Hoxton 

We hit up a bar in Hoxton…same one as my bay then made our way to another club called Tea (it is spelt wrong on joshsdoorbell.com…sorry Josh but ima stickler for journalistic integrity)…the club was fun but slowly our crew dwindle to Josh and I ripping around talking to anyone who would listen to two Canadians (one with dyslexia)…met some nice Italians tho…however josh couldn’t understand what they were saying…cause of his dyslexia…so we rolled on out…HAHA oh yeah just remembered this part…some dude on the bus wouldn’t shut up about poverty in Africa (k that sounded really bad) but he was talking gibberish about economics and stuff he clearly had no clue about and didn’t make any sense… so me being me, along with about 8 other people on the bus, had to pipe up and correct him on what he was saying…some yelling ensued but I think he has his facts straight now haha…anyways that was pretty much the end of the night…good times

Saturday Pat, Josh and I headed to Arsenal to watch them play Blackburn…Cheers for the tix Pat ura leg…the game was pretty lame tho…0-0 and about 3 shots on goal…but what can ya do, still got to see a football game in the best stadium in England with Henry and Co on the pitch…so finished the game and went to the pub to celebrate Pats bday…so turns out drinking from 2pm till 7pm in the same pub is not always the best plan of action…leaves many quite tired….therefore after that pub we made our way to another place in Angel (dope area in London) but our crew was dropping like flies…after that bar it was just Yoel me and Josh…Yoel took us to a cool little club/lounge in angel then bounced when me and Josh wanted to hit up a club…key word there being “wanted”…now normally I am navigational Legend…unfortunately like all great navigators reading a bus sign is not part of our skill set…we ended up in Cockfosters (north London) about an hour away from where we wanted to be…or so we were told by the guy laughing at us who was sitting in front of us…he gave us a beer for being entertaining then we got off the bus crossed the street and waited for the next double decker back to where we came from…thaaaaaaaaaaat pretty much wrote off the rest of the night…two hours later we were back home..haha

Sunday was equally challenging…we got up late and headed into London for some food at a wicked restaurant that Sarah recommended, by Leicester square…well once again we got lost trying to find it…we found Soho, Covent gardens, Chinese new year, a street it turns out we had been on the night before, then eventually Abeno Too the restaurant we were trying to find the whole time…around the corner from where we started…dyslexia…it will get you every time…the food was wicked and worth the journey…made my way back to reading after eating…all in all in pretty wicked weekend…

I’m heading back into London this weekend to see Mstrkrft with Josh and Sarah…should be dope…and hopefully provide a good post…

Keep it real

Birfday in London

Welp another year another bday over with, thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a magical evening...honestly though it was great to see you all!

The night started out with me and Steve having a few beers at the house and eatin some chicken...for the record Steve you have no idea how to cut a chicken it pains me to watch you try...so yeah had a couple drinks at the house then made our way to the train station to meet up with the others...it really is great how you can drink in public here, we ended up necking (slamming) a few beers on the train to london which is always fun...met up with the always charming Patrick Healey and homie Simkins in Paddington...then made our way to Hoxton square near old street (home of Jack the Ripper)...but yeah I really really like Hoxton it's a such a dope area to go out...there are ton of bars and pubs and stuff, you can pretty much go there for a month and never go to the same place twice...but anyways managed to get myself quite loaded and saw everyone I was hoping to see and have drinks with...cept obviously for the Fam and friends back home, thank you everyone for the cards and emails, I miss you all a TON!

Saturday was fun, had planned on going back to Reading in the afternoon but got a last minute call from Pat to meet up with him and Simpkins to watch some footy...never one to pass on a good time I made my way back over to his place...we then decided we wanted to watch the last bit of the england rugby game and the Arsenal game in Soho so made our way there...Pat I know you love the pic I have up at the top of this, it's just for you buddy ;) ...I took that pic while Pat was trying to sprint to the pub so he wouldnt miss any of the game, thanks to my dawdling and the buses being messed up he missed the first 30 mins and WOW was he happy haha)...had a few beers in a pub and watched the rest of the games, then grab some really good chinese before making my back to Reading in the evening...Today (my actual bday) has been spent chillin around the house and played a couple matches of vball...
went out for some dinner with friends after the game...all in all a very entertaining weekend can't wait to do it all again next year.
