Holland Wrap Up

Hallo,

So after a solid weekend of drinking relaxing with the "mates" in Reading I had to catch a flight back to...yup u guessed it, Holland for one last time...for now.

TIP: Don't fly with a hangover, it is not fun...at all

Got to my hotel late on Sunday night and have been either eating, working with our clients, getting lost in Zwolle or in my hotel room watching Nip Tuck or 24 (episode 4 really set the bar). Instead of boring you all with the details of being here I’m just gonna list what i like and don't like about Holland having now spent a good portion of the New year here:

Don't like:

- Not understanding Dutch (but I can kinda read the menus now)
- That I don't have a bike here like everyone else
- That everyone is taller than me (Dave keep your smart ass comments to urself)
- Figuring out train routes when you can't read Dutch
- Indoor snowboarding at a fitness club...come on!?!? are they serious?...it's a giant conveyor belt!

Like:

- Croquettes...Simply put... they are Tantalizing
- Amsterdam...Epic city
- Den Haag (The Hague) see previous post...but a very very nice city
- Schipol Airport...fast and efficient and no US customs agents
- Milk...all 400 types of it
- Cheese...same as above
- K I’ma stop listing specific food, it all Rules, I have yet to have a bad meal
- The Euro...cause British pounds squash it ;)
- Trains...for the most part the run on time
- Scheveningen...sic beach, gonna have to hit it up for some beach vball in the summer
- People...everyone speaks English and are really nice...or maybe they just dig the dimples
- Sorry I said I wouldn't mention food again...but the fries rule
- The Tea kits...everyone/restaurant brings out tea in the this little tackle box type kit for you to choose your tea bag from
- Wehkamp...they are our new clients so I gotta give them props (Netherlands biggest online retailer...way to go peeps)
- And last but no least...gotta lotta love for......DRIVING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD

I have one last night in Zwolle then I am flying back to London tomorrow night...quite possibly 5 pounds heavier...

Hope you are all having a great week!

PEACE

Going Dutch

Goedemorgen!

So just got back from 5 days in Holland for work and a bit of fun believe it or not. And before I get going I would like to publicly admit that yes Tanner your home land is wicked and I got a lot of love for the Netherlands...Now write that down cause it's likley to be the last nice thing you hear from me :P

Anyways back to to the trip...so flew out Wednesday night with Em my coworker to Schipol airport in Amsterdam and made our way North to the charming town of Zwolle...home of our client...Had a couple late nights and long days of meetings but all went very well...

Friday after our last meeting (which were in a converted Cathedral...very cool) I had to catch a train down to Rotterdam to meet my friend Leonie...well i used to think the trains ran on time in holland but they dont...took 3 hours to get there...but well worth the journey as I had a guided tour of The Hague with a great girl. Even got to meet a friend of hers on the Friday night and play some racketball which apparently I suck at...did tour around The Hague on Saturday which was cool, it is a really nice clean city with great food...DUTCH PANKCAKES AND STROOP RULE (see picture)...Sunday we made our way out to the beach which was awsome but a little bit cold and windy...k very windy and very cold but I'm sure it will be awsome there in summer...will definatley be making trip out there for some beach vball...Anyways the whole weekend went really well and I had an awsome time...THANK YOU LEONIE :)

Monday I had to do a training session with the clients and then flew back home in the evening...plane landed early, I couldn't believe it, didn't know they could even do that!

But time to head out for the weekend and off to Holland again for next week for work...you'd think I'd start to learn the language by now...

I love Brazil

Hope everyone had or is having a great weekend!

I just had one of my best weekends in London yet...well friday wasn't in London I was in Reading and in fine form with my buddies getting leathered (means drunk)...nothing major happened just had a good laugh and a bit of dancing...

Saturday however was a lot of fun...me and Steve headed into London in the evening to watch Arsenal destroy Liverpool at Pats house while enjoying some beer, greasy fish and chips, and Pat's messed up stories and theories about life in general...after the game Steve headed to the misses and me and Pat headed into Covent garden to a Brazilian bar to meet Yoel and some of his other buddies...we had a wicked time there... they had a live Brazilian band with about 25 people on stage singing and playing instruments, they even had a crazy "Doc from back to the future" looking dude as a conductor or Maestro if you will (see pic above)...Well we had a bunch more drinks...i tried a bit of SAMBA dancing...it's kinda hard...and met lots of cool peple and will definatly be making another trip ther...Mooney you need to go bud you'd love it...Pat headed home early and me and Yoel eventually made our ways home after grabbing some food, chatting with randoms, and figuring out the bus service...speaking of which the buses in London are dope its like a cheap double decker tour, it got to see big ben and Westminster Abbey right up close...good times

Today Pat, Yoko (Pats friend) and I headed to china town for some dim sum...hadn't had dim sum in years but it wasa really good...reminded me of all the good asian food back home...after lunch met up with Steve again and we made the treck back home...thought I'd also snap this pic of some delicous Cuttle Fish mmmmmmm

Now I have a trip to Holland to look forward to this week for work and weekend for fun!

Ik spreek je snel weer (means talk to you soon in Dutch)
